Grant Application

Eric Stachowiak, MSW, LSW, Cherie Bonner, MSW, and Liz Sysak , PhD re:solve Crisis Network (Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC)

Proposed Innovation

Allegheny County residents who come to the re:solve Crisis Network for help are in a crisis situation. They need support but aren’t always aware of the different resources and solutions available. They may feel unsure about what they need or uncomfortable asking for services.

Through this project, an Interactive Community Resource and Information Terminal (ICRIT), or kiosk, will be set up to provide individuals in need of help with easy access to clinical information and community resources.

Improvements in Action

A freestanding computer kiosk with an interactive display screen will be purchased to provide users with a quick and easy way to find information on mental and behavioral health conditions, along with resources for local treatment options. The kiosk also will include a printer so users can easily take information with them.

Results – In Progress

The ICRIT System will provide a modern digital tool that will help to eliminate treatment barriers and encourage engagement with the touch of a button. It will help area residents find new resources and feel more confident about their crisis situation.
